NATURE'S PATH FAMILY WELLNESS

Dr. Jennifer Curtiss grew up on a Southern Oregon ranch before moving to Missoula to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Montana.  She was inspired to practice naturopathic medicine after an eye-opening summer internship with Dr. Stephen Gordon ND, a diabetes specialist.  Dr. Curtiss decided to incorporate naturopathic medicine with her therapeutic work with survivors of cancer and traumatic head injuries, and disabled individuals.

Dr. Curtiss graduated from the National College of Natural Medicine with honors in research for her work at the Helfgott Research Institute on naturopathic support for cancer patients.  She also coordinated the High School Outreach Program, providing Naturopathic health workshops to Portland’s youth and was awarded the NCNM Limelight award for her efforts in community education.

Dr. Curtiss completed a residency with her mentor Dr. David Greenspan ND, who taught her the art of functional medicine: supporting the body’s own systems to reach a healthy balance in the body. She performs diagnostic studies to identify causes of illness, which often includes environmental toxins such as heavymetals, mold, solvents, and harmful foods.  Treatment is directed at removing the causes of one’s illness.  A patient’s course of care may include nutritional therapy using diet and supplements, physical medicine, intramuscular and intravenous therapy, the use of botanical medicine, homeopathy, energetic medicine, and counseling.

Recently Dr. Curtiss trained with  the successful women's health physical Tami Lynn Kent MSPT to learn the profound and gentle skill of Holistic Pelvic Care.  This therapy uses gentle intervaginal massage, myofascial release and trigger point therapy to heal the tissues of the pelvic floor in women.  Dr. Curtiss is honored to be providing this very healing and empowering therapy for women.  She believes this care should be a part of every woman's basic health maintenance plan.

Dr. Curtiss specializes in pediatric and family health, hormone and nervous system balance, and fertility/preconception health care. Motivated by her passion for community wellness, Dr. Curtiss enjoys educating people on strategies for making improvements in their health and lifestyle. With the ultimate goal of preventing illness, she devotes much of her practice to teaching patients techniques on improving their sleep, energy, stress responses, nutrition, and exercise.
